    About our Carbon Offset Program
    At Coast Hotels & Resorts we are commited to doing the right things for our guests, Ambassadors, owners and the community. The eCoast program is our commitment to the long term sustainability of the communities in which we do business.

    Our Green Initiatives Include:

    • Tissues, toilet paper and paper towels are made from 100% recycled, chlorine-free Ecologo Tork® certified paper products. Each year, we save:
    • 774 trees and about 127 cubic meters of waste from going into landfills
    • 318,660 gallons of water, equaling 3.18 Olympic size pool
    • 186,654 Kilowatts of energy, enough to power 18.6 homes a year
    • Our amenities are botanical based and provided in bulk sizes to help reduce the use of plastic
    • Our stationery is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council of Canada) certified paper.
    • Keycards are made from 70% recycled plastic
    • Oceanwise™ certified sustainable seafood is featured on many of our menus
    • Individual hotels have wide-ranging recycling programs, energy-efficient lighting and appliances, and low-flow toilets and shower heads in guest rooms
    • Many of our hotels are using bio-degradable cleaning supplies
    • Three Coast Hotels’ properties have been retrofitted with Sempa hybrid heating systems; these use proprietary technology to decrease greenhouse gas emissions from space heating and water heating.
    • The Coast Coal Harbour Hotel in Vancouver is our first Zero Waste property so it does not contribute waste to landfills.
